Common Questions

What can I expect during my first therapy session?

Our first meeting is a gentle introduction. We focus on establishing safety and understanding your goals at a pace that feels right for you. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready to. I will also take the time to discuss agency policies and gather background information. We will end our time together picking out times that work best for you to continue therapy.

How do I know if I am ready to start processing my trauma?

Readiness is a spectrum. We start by building a toolkit of grounding and self-regulation skills. Once you feel stable and supported by these tools, we can slowly begin exploring deeper healing work.

Do you offer support for perinatal mental health?

Yes, I specialize in supporting individuals navigating the complexities of the perinatal period, including trauma related to birth, postpartum anxiety, and mood changes. I am trained by Postpartum Support International. I have advanced training in perinatal mood disorders, grief, birth trauma and perinatal substance use disorders. I am a candidate for the PMH-C certification.

Do you offer free consultations?

Yes! I offer free 15-20 min consults to see if we are a good fit.

Will you offer groups?

Yes! I am currently working on a recovery group / relapse prevention group.

What insurances do you take?
